Underclassmen have the potential to make this
an excellent RB class.
At the top are two juniors. TJ Duckett, a huge Jerome Bettis
type bulldozer with even better speed than Bettis and Ron Dayne. Right
behind him is Cedric Cobbs. An impressive athlete with nice size and |
breakaway speed. Other underclassmen include BC's extremely talented
William Green who may be a top 10 pick in another year,
South Carolina's talented but troubled Derek Watson and Lee Suggs who was
on his way to a top 10 pick before an ACL injury. Suggs has talent to become
a franchise runner if he can come back strong.
The top senior is UCLA's DeShaun Foster. Foster has the ability
to be a feature back in the NFL but injuries have slowed him up. He has
finally stayed healthy this season and as a result, is a top Heisman candidate. |

Lamar Gordon has the size and speed the NFL loves. He has
been talked about as a possible 1st round pick. He will won't likely be
taken that high but 2nd round is a definite possibility. Then you have
college stars like Ken Simonton whose size limits his NFL potential and
Clemson's Woodrow Dantzler, an exciting college QB who is going to have
to switch positions in the NFL. |
