The Senior QB class is pretty weak and not very deep. However, a great of Juniors could change that.
At this point, Oregon's Joey Harrington is the top QB on the board. He's big, has a nice arm and is a proven winner and team leader. Behind Harrington, the other top seniors are David Carr, Rohan Davey and David Gerrard. Carr is having a great senior season and could be a mid-late 1st rounder if this continues. Davey has great physical tools. He throws a very accurate ball and if he stays healthy he could become a great NFL pick. Gerrard is in the same mold as Davey but his problem in consistency and not injuries. Other seniors include George
Godsey, Kurt Kittner, Zak Kustok and Woody Dantzler, all of which are great college QBs but have their limitations when it comes to the pro game. You can also add Antwaan Randel-El to that list although the NFL will probably find a new position for the dynamic Randel-El.
The afformentioned Junior class features some great athletes and lots of potential. UNLV's Jason Thomas (below) has been called another Daunte Culpepper and it's easy to see why. Thomas is one of the best
athletes in the entire nation regardless of position. He is having a tough senior year though and should return to school. Texas' Chris Sims has the pedigree and natural passing skills to suceed. However at the time of this writing, Sims has 9 college starts to his name. He should return to school as well. Louisville's Dave Ragone may be ready to come out. He is underrated as an athlete and has a great arm. He looks like a better prospect than former Cardinal Chris Redman. Other underclassman who could make some noise include Marshall's next QB wonder
Byron Leftwich, Miami's field general and the talented but inconsistent Carson Palmer. Another to watch is 3yr Sophmore, Eli Manning.
A couple of sleepers to watch include former Kentucky QB Dusty Bonner (left), Toledo's underappreciated signal caller Tavares Bolden, Morehouse's strong armed Chivalrik Daughtry, Alabama A&M's QB Darnell Kennedy and Florida A&M's Quinn Gray.
